Blends
Essential oil blends are mixtures of two or more essential oils combined to create a synergistic effect. These blends are designed to enhance or target specific therapeutic benefits, such as relaxation, stress relief, pain management, or immune support. By mixing different oils, the individual properties of each oil complement one another, creating a more powerful and well-rounded outcome than using a single essential oil.
For example, a "calming" blend might combine lavender, chamomile, and ylang-ylang oils for their soothing effects. A "respiratory support" blend could include eucalyptus, peppermint, and tea tree oils to help open airways and promote easier breathing.
Blends are commonly used in aromatherapy, massage oils, and skincare products. Just like individual essential oils, blends are typically diluted with a carrier oil (such as coconut, jojoba, or almond oil) before applying to the skin, to reduce potency and prevent irritation. Pre-made blends are often available for purchase, but many people create their own personalized blends to suit their specific needs or preferences.
